COLONIAL “HACIENDAS”, SUGARCANE MUSEUM AND WINE TASTING - A trip through local traditions and customs

Travel back in time and bear witness to the charm and romanticism of a Latin American love novel. Learn the traditions and evolution of the main economical practice of our region.

We will visit the main haciendas of our region including one which is the inspiration of a romantic novel and another which is the icon of our sugar cane abundance. The Hacienda El Paraíso and the Sugar Cane Museum or Hacienda Piedechinche that holds years of culture and knowledge. These two tourism icons rich in architecture, art, flora and fauna receive every year an important number of visitors looking for a quiet walk surrounded by beautiful landscapes and history. Both haciendas keep the memory alive of what life was like in the XVIII and XIX centuries, maintaining the pleasant freshness, adorned with rose bushes and illuminated by the radiance of the first rays of sun every morning.

We will also have a traditional lunch in between the haciendas that will awake our palates.

This tour puts us in direct contact with nature. We will discover natural history, artisanal and agro industrial exploitation of sugarcane, along with the main scene of the Latin American romanticism's top novel, make this excursion a unique and unforgettable experience.

In Colombia we are blessed with ideal geographical and climatic conditions for coffee growing. This combined with the care and passion from the coffee growers in each step of the process, and the strict controls that guarantee the quality of each grain, providing a rich coffee industry with economic, social and environmental sustainability. This all amounts to a high-quality product.

With the Cali Coffee Tour, you will be a witness to the process for each stage of production: making the Colombian bean juice. You will learn about the history of coffee and how it is made, from its origin in the Ethiopian highlands, all the way to the Colombian soil. At the coffee farm, you will enjoy a complete tour through the coffee plantation, discovering the seven types of coffee trees that converge in different stages of development with its natural surroundings creating a self-sustainable farm. Here you can also find multiple varieties of birds and butterflies that coexist to decorate the landscape and enrich your experience.

You will live the experience of being a coffee picker or making coffee quality control selection, and you will see step by step the complete process from sowing to obtaining the final product.
